Hair Style Tutorial - Summer Overhead Plait by VioletLeBeaux Hair Style Tutorial - Summer Overhead Plait by VioletLeBeaux
I've decided to turn all of my old hair tutorial into simple one image versions like this because people asked for easier versions they could reblog on Pinterest/Tumblr etc.

This style is nice for really windy days because once it's in it won't go anywhere! You can decorate it in lots of ways depending on if you want to be formal or not and you don't actually need to know how to braid because it's just two plaits. It crosses over a lot of styles, I wear it on casual days and a lot of my friends who wear Lolita fashion wear it in Classic styles.

Hope you guys enjoy it, let me know if you have requests or think I could improve in the layout etc ^_^

The original tutorial I wrote is here: [link]

The video tutorial I made on it is here: [link]

Neat tutorial! :) Is there a difference between a braid and a plait?

Thank you! I think generally they mean slightly different things in different parts of the world, to me a plait has 3 strands and hangs down like these did, a braid has 3 or more strands and takes new pieces of hair with each movement and a french braid is a braid that goes under/over rather than over/under. In other parts of the world the words plait and braid are interchangeable though, hope that helps! ^_^

So I did this but my bangs are so long I left them out and just pinned them back a bit and it looks just as cute. ^___^

Isn't this a crown braid? Except with plaits?

Pretty much, good for people who aren't confident in braiding skills yet :)
